Field Day 2009

Yesterday was field day at the kids school. Lots of fun, lots of water and lots of laughter filled the air on this beautiful day. I tried to hang out with each child equal amounts of time, but somehow I feel like I didn't do such a good job at that. Joe was also there. He was doing his watch dog duties, helping run events, set and take down, but the best thing was watching him and the other watch dog dads play water balloon volleyball with the administration of the school. Those dad's knew how to bounce a water balloon with the sheet and send it soring into the sky, while screaming children waited to see where the balloon would fall and who would get wet. Long gone are the days of three legged races and winners blue ribbons, but fun was had by all. Owen's favorite was the water slide and when daddy soaked him with the bucket of cold water. Katelyn's favorite was when she soaked her teacher with a cup of ice cold water. How cool are teachers these days, they want to play just as much as the kids do, when I was a kid, my teachers would have never done something like jumping in line and sliding down the water slide like Katelyn's teacher did. I can't tell you how much we just love our school and our teachers. God has truly blessed us this year. Just four more days remain...Looking forward to summer but oh how we will miss Mrs. Meador and Mrs. Welch.

So Many Thanks

What a wonderful day... today was our teacher appreciation day at the preschool where I teach. I have 12 wonderful little loves in my class who have grabbed hold of my heart. Their parents are all so nice and supportive. The wonderful gifts I recieved, there are no words for thank yous. The food that all the mom's provided was amazing. Desserts were so yummy. The time to spend with friends who we don't always get to see during the day was so good also. This year has just flown by, when our class first started there were only two little girls who were potty trained, now we have all but four fully potty trained. They have grown so much also, in so many ways. I have only two days left with these little loves. My heart will once again break as they leave for summer break. Though I'm excited about the time I will spend with Katelyn and Owen this summer, I surely will miss my kids. Much love to all who made my day so great. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Mother's Day

Today I woke to the sounds of my wonderful children coming in to my room with daddy carrying my breakfast on a pizza pan. Owen had made me breakfast, an overflowing bowl of Fruity pebbles, a room temp. glass of not so chocolate, chocolate milk, a piece of gum and a flower from our rose bush in the back yard. So Sweet. I was tickled, literal. They tickled me out of the bed. I was escorted down stairs with strict instruction to keep my eyes shut, which I did, to a surprise. Katelyn had decorated the table with a pink table cloth, flower petals sprinkled all over and two cards that the kids had made. I love that they both have the ability to write to me now. Nothing is better. What a wonderful day. Thank you Katelyn and Owen you just made my day and I love you so.

So Thankful

I'm setting here in the peace and quiet of my home listening to the celing fan hum. My wonderful husband took the kids to Katelyn's softball practice, and told me to stay home and get some rest. How very cool is that??? I'm exhausted from the day of pre school with 12 two and three year olds. Did I memtion that I was now also babysitting a sweet little girl named Jillian. She is two and a half months old and so precious. Once I left the preschool Jillian and I picked up Katelyn, Owen and Shee and two of Jillian's siblings from school. Kids are so fun. I love the first few minutes after they get into the car. Everyone talking over each other to tell me about their day. Owen usually wins out, because he just gets louder and louder until everyone else stops talking to listen to him. I have tried the "lets take turns" thing but it just doesn't seem to work out. I'm glad they like to share with me what they did at school and wouldn't trade this time for anything. It was now time to head to Jillian's house to wait for her mommy. The kids all played well together and loved on the little miss. She seems to love the attention. I watched as the cleaning lady finished her work, and secretly longed for her to go to my house next. Once mommy came home, I got my two and Shee off to my house where Shee's mom was just arriving. Go, go, go...I don't know how single moms do it, I'm just so thankful for my husband.

Are you missing a kid???

Are you missing a kid??? You may want to look in my back yard. At any given time in the last few days there have been no less than four kids in our back yard. Today, no lying, there were 13 kids playing in our back yard, and only one of them was mine. It is nice to know that kids like to come to our home to play though sometime I wish our yard was our own. I however do love to hear the laughter and watching them all play together. I sometimes wonder where their parents are? Only two of the 11 asked their mother first before coming over. I sometimes send them home to ask, but usually see them running up and down the streets than going home to ask. I have now decided as long as all are getting along, I would rather have them playing here than walking up and down the streets getting into trouble. The rain has stopped most of the games and practices, so the kids are itching to do something outside. So if your missing a kid don't forget to check our yard first.

Games today....CANCELLED...again

Kids are so bummed. The rains once again have cancelled our games for today. With playing through the church, the season is already short, only 7 games total and 9 practices. This spring has offered just two games so far and only two more in the season. I guess this is what spring is all about, but the kids still are bummed. Joe is at work today and kind of relieved that games are cancelled as so many of the coaches were going to be out this weekend and he was worried about his t-ball team. We have really good friends that offered to coach in his place and things would have been fine, but he is still relieved. I'm voting for LP Sports to have a fall t-ball, baseball and softball league. Here is TX it is warm enough and not nearly as much rain so games and practices could actually happen. Not sure who would go along with me on this, but it is an idea anyway. Now to figure out what I can do to keep them happy until dad gets home...

Threw the eye's of my daughter

Katelyn has been in love with the camera for as long as I can remember. She loves to take pictures, and has an eye for some really good shots. She has taken these with the camera she got for her birthday. Keep in mind she is just ten. Hope you enjoy.
